Excellent path, partly tarred.
Some parts are a little steep but without big difficulty.
This small hike starts at the exit of Opunohu bay on the way to Papetoai, right next to the fare Tutava which sells homemade jams.
You will see a small car park on mountain side, with a hut and a sign indicating the start of the magic mountain.
Get in touch with the manager, who will charge you (200 CFP per person) and explain how to access the trail.
Once on the asphalt track, you quickly come to an intersection. The left path is a little longer but offers lovely views of Opunohu Bay and the lagoon.
The ascent on the path lasts about 30min before you arrive at the end of the quad track. From there, a trail starts to climb to the final point of view.
Once at the top, you can admire the lagoon on the Papetoai side, and Opunohu Bay on the other side. Once back to the quad track, take the other way to go down to complete the magic moutain loop.
