Hike description
As for the Putoa waterfalls, the Vaioro waterfall is accessible from Afareaitu.
The path to get there is in fact the beginning of the route which leads to the pierced mountain, the famous Mou'a Puta.
Park your car at the Afareaitu hospital, then find the track after 200m towards Vaiare.
Follow the track for over about 1km, until you reach the trail.
Continue along the river, and enjoy the lush vegetation and beautiful flowers.
About 500m after the start of the trail, you come to a fork in the river.
Do not cross, and continue up the river to the right.
You arrive very quickly at the Vaioro waterfall.
Swimming possible in the basin of the waterfall, or in one of the basins downstream.
You can look for the Tiki head carved into a rock, to the right of the waterfall!
